Ursula Brangwen is a young woman determined to claim her independence. But despite her constant rebellion against society's expectations of women, Ursula finds herself pushed down the same path of marriage and entrapment as her mother and grandmother before her.



Banned shortly after its publication on the grounds of obscenity, `The Rainbow‘ (1905) is a three-generational story of misunderstandings, desire and misplaced passion. The book was adapted by director Ken Russel in 1989, starring Sammi Davis as Ursula.
