My Dragon Name is Misora

Misora is a young girl with a vivid imagination who lives on a small island off the coast of Japan. She spends her days playing games with her parents, listening to her mother’s stories about spirits and giants, and dreaming of adventures beyond the horizon.

When a tragic accident at sea changes her family forever, Misora struggles to understand what has happened and what comes next. As she searches for answers, she meets Tomo, a giant who pushes the sun around in a wheelbarrow. Together, they explore a hidden world of yokai, dragons, and ancient spirits.

Together they face a threat known as Jakuu, a world-eater whose hunger could consume everything they know. But as danger grows, Misora discovers that some battles cannot be won through strength alone, and that courage often means accepting what cannot be changed.

Inspired by Japanese folklore and fairy tales, My Dragon Name is Misora is a gentle story about loss, grief, imagination, and the stories people tell to carry love through loss. Suitable for older children, young adults, and adults alike, it explores how wonder and memory can help us navigate even the most difficult moments of life.
