Welfare State and Population in Denmark, Germany and the UK

Over the course of more than 30 years, the ROCKWOOL Foundation Research Unit has published a series of studies of the everyday lives and conditions of the Danish people, and has recently expanded the scope of these studies to include

comparative studies of conditions in selected countries. 



In Welfare State and Population in Denmark, Germany and the UK, our aim is to outline developments since 1960 and present a

status report on the welfare states in Denmark and our neighbours to the west and the south: the UK and Germany. The book also

provides an overview of the everyday lives and living conditions of the Danish, British and German people at home and on the labour

market, in educational institutions and in public life.

This book is the second volume in a series that takes a comparative view of the welfare states of Northern Europe.

The first volume in the series was Velfærdsstat og befolkning i Skandinavien. Træk af udviklingen siden 1960’erne [Welfare State

and Population in Scandinavia. Aspects of the Development since the 1960s.]

 

ROCKWOOL Fondens Forskningsenhed har gennem flere end 30 år publiceret en række undersøgelser af danskernes tilværelse, og på det seneste har fonden udvidet arbejdsområdet til at omfatte komparative undersøgelser af forholdene i udvalgte lande.

I Velfærdsstat og befolkning i Danmark, Storbritannien og Tyskland gives en skildring af udviklingen siden 1960 og status for velfærdsstaten i Danmark og de vestlige og sydlige nabolande Storbritannien og Tyskland. I bogen får man også et overblik over danskernes, briternes og tyskernes hverdag og levevilkår derhjemme og på arbejdsmarkedet, i uddannelsesinstitutionerne og i det offentlige liv.

Bogen er anden del af en serie, der tematiserer de nordeuropæiske velfærdsstater i et sammenlignende perspektiv.
