In a world where deserts are alive and the very pulse can be manipulated, a family’s legacy determines the future of the planet, as they witness how faith can turn into obsession; how survival can mean betraying what one fights for; and how the answers lie buried behind fear, pride, and guilt. Every light casts a shadow. When that happens, even those who strive to save the world can become part of its downfall. Socrates famously argued that akrasia was impossible — that if someone truly knew the good, they would do it. Aristotle disagreed with Socrates and described akrasia as a common human failing: we can understand the right choice, yet still choose otherwise because of impulse, pleasure, or distraction.

He turned away, staring into the shadowed walls.
“Look, Kaelor. I know it doesn’t make it easier”.
“Then what is it supposed to make me feel?!”, Kaelor growled at his father.
“It’s not supposed to make you feel anything”, Cunha said. Neither of them looked at each other. Then Cunha got up and sat down beside his son.
"It’s difficult figuring out when to be your father and when to be king, my son”. For a time, the only sound was the fire’s low crackle and the moaning wind above. Then Kaelor said, “You always told me this world still had order. That we just had to maintain it”.
